Rossmoor and its surrounding communities gathered for a heartfelt cause on a recent Friday evening. The occasion? A poker tournament fundraiser organized to support Noah Bragg’s Bucket List.

Noah is a young boy in the community who was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor during a visit to Children’s Hospital Orange County. The event not only showcased the generosity and compassion within the community but also demonstrated the power of coming together for a common cause.

The turnout for the fundraiser was nothing short of remarkable, with 65 people from the community, including dedicated members of Post 716, coming together to support Noah Bragg and his family. The American Legion Post 716 served as the perfect venue for this gathering, providing a familiar and comfortable setting for friends and neighbors to unite in the face of adversity.

As the evening unfolded, participants were treated to an open bar, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and relaxation. The delightful aroma of delicious tacos from a local vendor filled the air, adding a savory touch to the already vibrant event. The combination of good company, refreshing beverages, and scrumptious food set the stage for an unforgettable night, reinforcing the sense of community that defines Post 716.

After a few words from Commander Eubanks and Post Adjutant, Roger Haag, the poker tournament began. Tom Brown from the Son’s was the Tournament Coordinator and ran the tournament efficiently. Post 716 not only hosted and participated in the tournament, it even made a donation to the fundraiser. Tables buzzed with excitement as players tried their luck and skill, all for the noble cause of supporting Noah Bragg’s medical journey. The stakes were high, and the competition fierce, but the overarching spirit of unity prevailed.

As the tournament progressed, the atmosphere intensified, leading to the climactic moment when only the final five individuals remained at the winner’s table. These participants not only demonstrated their poker prowess but also their commitment to contributing to a cause greater than themselves.

Everyone who participated in setting up and running the fundraiser went the extra mile to make this event memorable for everyone involved. Prizes were generously provided, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament. The last five players were not just competing for glory; they were vying for tangible rewards that served as tokens of appreciation for their support.

In the end, one participant emerged as the ultimate champion. Brian Kelley, with a combination of skill, strategy, and perhaps a touch of luck, clinched the title of the poker tournament fundraiser. The victory came not only with bragging rights but also with the coveted winner’s medallion, a symbol of triumph and solidarity with Noah Bragg.

As Brian proudly donned the winner’s medallion, there was an undeniable air of style and accomplishment. The medallion, more than just a piece of jewelry, became a token of the community’s collective efforts and the champion’s personal triumph. Brian, looking “Gucci” as ever, rocked his new piece of jewelry with pride, embodying the spirit of victory and compassion that defined the entire evening.

The poker tournament fundraiser at American Legion Post 716 was more than just a night of cards and competition; it was a testament to the strength of community bonds and the capacity for individuals to come together for a meaningful cause. As the event concluded, the sense of accomplishment and goodwill lingered, leaving a lasting impression on all those who attended.

At the end of the night, the Bragg family were presented with the proceeds of the fundraiser, $8,150, The Bragg family were undoubtedly touched by the outpouring of support, and the success of the fundraiser demonstrated that even in the face of adversity, hope and community can prevail.

The poker tournament host at American Legion Post 716 was not just a fundraiser; it was a celebration of compassion, unity, and the power of individuals to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
