The spirit of patriotism and gratitude echoed through Weaver and Rossmoor Elementary School halls as they held special Veteran Appreciation ceremonies to honor the brave men and women who currently serve or have served our nation. Officers of American Legion Post 716 attended events at both schools. As veterans privileged to attend these events, the warmth of the community’s appreciation was palpable, making it a morning to remember.

Boy Scout Troop 667 was standing tall at Weaver Elementary, ready to perform honor guard duties for the occasion and Los Alamitos High School’s award-winning choir performed the national anthem.
At both events, the sound of footsteps and gentle chatter filled the air as active-duty servicemembers and veterans, some of whom were adorned in their military uniforms, made their way to the front of the assembly of students. The American flag fluttering in the breeze heightened the sense of pride and respect that permeated the ceremony.
